District Conservation Technician Program: Success in Colorado
Colorado’s District Conservation Technician Program strengthens locally led conservation by funding on-the-ground positions that help landowners implement sustainable practices, support rural economies, and foster collaboration across federal, state, and local partners.
NASCA and NWC hosted the 2017 Conservation Conference at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska on September 25th – 27th.  We would like to thank our members, sponsors, and exhibitors who represented 35 states.
Colorado’s State Conservation Board Marketing and Long-Range Planning: Outreach and Legislative Activities - Field Staff Presentation, Whitefish 2008.
NASCA arranged for presentations from six states and organizations to display new technology available for conservation planning, program delivery and monitoring.  Topics include new conservation planning tools for producers; software for practice planning, design and implementation (ponds, dams, waterways, pipelines); technology for tracking practice implementation; monitoring technology, and other computer technology to improve conservation program delivery and monitoring.
North Carolina’s PCEP develops a structure to assess and address professional development needs for technical, administrative, managerial and educational staff as well as district supervisors through training plan templates that can be tailored to the individual soil and water conservation districts’ priorities.
