I'm not quite sure what you may be looking for in a workshop, our partnership (state and association, along with extension and NRCS) host a week long overnight camp annually. It's a huge success for several reasons (1) subject matter experts teach courses on wildlife, soil science, water, forestry, etc. (2) it's AFFORDABLE and almost 100% of the attendees go for free (conservation districts often provide 'scholarships' and pay the fee for campers) (3) while the association definitely now does the majority of legal/licensing/etc. work (being a nonprofit helps) - the partnership truly supports and many staff from NRCS and our state agency either lead learning courses, act as chaperones or help out in other various capacities.
I'd be very interested in learning more about your workshops and see what other states provide high schoolers during the summer with?
