The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission is interested in beginning a recognition program for landowners/companies/developers that do an exceptional job of erosion control on land disturbance sites. Does your state have such a program? If so, what are the program particulars and how is the program administered? Is there a web link available for further information? Minnesota does not. Any recognition efforts are kept at the local level. We collect some stories/photos of the local projects and provides a wider distribution via website, newsletters, and legislative presentations. Our state "EPA" runs the mandated E&SC permits assoicated with construction site activity but I don't think they do any recognition for regulated parties that hit the ball out of the park.
In SC we had a Stewardship Development Program to recognize developers for "maintaining and improving natural resouces on developed lands". The program has been dormant for several years. In North Carolina, our Division is involved in a couple of regional stewardship recognition efforts for developers, etc.
