Have any new conservation districts been created in your state in recent years?
No new districts created in North Carolina since at least the 1970's.
No new districts in North Dakota, we are struggling in some districts to maintain operations and staffing.
No new conservation districts have been created in Nebraska.
No new conservation districts have been created in Alabama.
In early 2020, we finalized the consolidation of two districts to a single, dual county office.
There have been no new Districts created in Idaho since 1974. However, in 2011 two Districts consolidated, which reduced the number of Districts in Idaho from 51 to 50.
No new districts in SC. Luckily we haven't had any consolidations either.
There have not been any new conservations districts formed in Wyoming.
No new SWCDs in Tennessee in the last 50+ years.
No new districts or consolidations in Missouri for around 30 years.
LA created a new district in 2003, but not since then. A 3-parish district calved 1 parish off to form its own. Will gladly share details.
None in South Dakota. Much like North Dakota, some districts are struggling to maintain operations and staffing.
