Data showing impacts to natural resources from cumulative small acreage landowners

Has any state (or group of states or even a watershed) developed data that helps to understand the impacts to natural resources from the cumulative impact of small acreage landowners? Background: As some of you know, I serve as NASCA representative on NACD Urban and Community Conservation resource policy group. Our group is developing a national small acreage initiative to put financial resources toward this issue that is taking up much of the workload of conservation districts. We have tons of rationale, we have data on demand from landowners, we have anecdotal data on impacts to resources, but we have no good comprehensive study or data that better defines the resource concerns. Thank you all for your help!
