Join us July 24 to learn about the history, structure, and collaborative efforts of the National Association of State Conservation Agencies (NASCA). Current NASCA President Tyler Brown and Past President Shana Joy will discuss who our diverse and dedicated members are, the framework of the board, and how the specialized committees and task forces are driving our initiatives. They will review how to get involved with the association and explore the various ways NASCA supports and empowers our members. This webinar is an excellent opportunity to gain insights into NASCA’s mission and how you can contribute to advancing conservation efforts nationwide.

Shana Joy – Past President

Washington State Conservation Commission

Shana Joy joined the Conservation Commission in July 2014. Prior to joining the Commission she worked for the Alaska Department of Natural Resources as the Executive Director of the Natural Resource Conservation and Development Board, a position she held for five years. In this role Shana worked closely with 12 diverse conservation districts statewide as well as state and federal agency leaders to advance conservation districts in Alaska. Shana graduated with honors from Oregon State University with a B.S. in natural resource management focusing on fish and wildlife conservation. A native of Pend Oreille County, Shana enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, fishing, and birding.

In addition to managing the regional manager staff, Shana provides service and support as a regional manager to these conservation districts: Asotin County, Columbia, Palouse, Rock Lake, Pine Creek, Pomeroy, and Whitman.
