2024 NRCS Outstanding State Conservationist Award Nomination

The National Association of State Conservation Agencies (NASCA) is seeking nominations from its members for the 2024 NRCS Outstanding State Conservationist Award. The basis of this award is to recognize an NRCS State Conservationist’s unparalleled service to the conservation partnership. We encourage State Conservation Agencies to work with their state partners in submitting nominations. This award will be presented during the 2025 NACD Annual Meeting.

We ask that all nominations be completed by December 6, 2024.

Criteria for selecting an NRCS State Conservationist

  • Nominee must have served as State Con in nominating state for a minimum of three years, and currently holds that position.
  • Nominee has worked in coordination w/ CDs to improve operational efficiency of conservation districts in the state.
  • Nominee has cooperated with the State Conservation Agency to achieve mutual goals and objectives or work on special projects.
  • Nominee has improved operational efficiency of NRCS in the state consistent with mutual needs of CDs and state agency.
  • Nominee has initiated cooperative efforts for training and workload coordination to improve performance and operational efficiency of conservation district employees in the state.
  • Nominee has successfully implemented innovative approaches for USDA programs in nominee’s state.
  • Nominee has elevated training opportunities for staff and partners in the state.
  • Nominee has successfully engaged landowners in all parts of the state.
